Aquaponics hops shows that many plants can be grown in the technology using fish for fertilizer and terrestrial plants to remove the nitrate they produce. This video shows an outdoor system that has been used to grow hops at Bright Agrotech. This is the second year that they have grown hops, the first was in a greenhouse environment, which had useful production. The hops were used by a local brewing establishment to make “aquaponic beer”
Recently there is a start toward growing a number of oddball products that are not generally associated with classic soil-less planting. In a recent post called Aquaponic Fodder System the food for farm livestock is grown in an aquaponic growbed. Now aquaponic hops has joined the list of non-standard plants that are being grown. While each is not overly important, the range and versatility of aquaponics gardens is slowly being expanded and explored.
